Last Sunday, we had a Wines of Spain event at Uncorked On State and this was the first wine that we poured. We found so much complexity in this bright crisp white wine. There are notes of citrus fruits such as grapefruit, stone fruits like peach and even tropical fruits (banana!) Additionally, it has medium alcohol and good body. Albariño is native to Spain and is by far the most widely planted varietal in Rias Baixas, located in the northwest corner of Spain, just above Portugal.

With all that going on, Chef Sam has prepared an incredible Tuna Tartare to pair with it. This combination is going to be a flavor explosion! Sesame oil, ginger and soy sauce spice up the AAA grade Saku Tuna which is served with cucumber, avocado and crispy wontons. The only thing that would make this pairing any better would be enjoying it on a balcony overlooking the ocean.

Enjoy!
