Cabernet Sauvignon is the number one red grape variety in Chile and the Maipo Valley is the heartland of Chilean winemaking. This wine region is just south of the capital city of Santiago, and is surrounded by mountains. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Terrunyo from Pirque, Maipo Alto, spent 17 months in French barrels.
Winemaker Notes: Bright, deep red in color. Very expressive on the nose with aromas of red fruits, blackcurrants, and blueberries, as well as mineral notes such as pencil lead. Well-structured and balanced on the palate with excellent density, fresh acidity, and silky tannins', with subtle notes of vanilla, graphite and loam on the lingering finish.
Ah Cabernet Sauvignon, we do love your rich red and dark fruit flavors, your full body and oak infused notes. Bring on a burger or filet to accompany this wine.
Enjoy!
